Synopsis

The second book in the trilogy that inspired the Netflix series "The Three-Body Problem" — from the creators of "Game of Thrones." "The Dark Forest" is an incredibly powerful and original work. Following the events of "The Three-Body Problem," humanity braces for an imminent alien invasion. The Earth-Trisolaris Organization — made up of Earthlings who betrayed their own kind to ally with the aliens — may have been defeated, but the presence of subatomic particles known as sophons exposes all of humanity's knowledge to the invaders, turning Earth's defenses into an open book for the Trisolarans. In this scenario, where only the human mind remains a safe refuge, the Barrier Project is established: four individuals will be tasked with developing a strategy for the salvation of the world. The Barrier is completely isolated, protecting their thoughts from the rest of humanity, but how long can a secret truly be kept?
