Synopsis

The Divine Comedy is a classic poem of Italian and world literature, featuring epic and theological elements, written by Dante Alighieri in the 14th century during the Renaissance. The work is divided into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. In total, there are one hundred cantos, with Dante himself as the protagonist, accompanied by the Roman poet Virgil on a spiritual journey through the three realms beyond death. Purgatorio is depicted in 33 cantos, where Dante encounters the souls awaiting judgment. This purgatory consists of seven circles, each representing one of the seven deadly sins: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust.
